Hi everyone,

Tilly, James and Oliver are running in loving memory of their late uncle, James Rickett, who sadly passed away from thyroid cancer in 2025. He was a remarkable person whose bravery, courage, kindness, and dry sense of humour left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He was a devoted father to his sons Alex and Theo, a devoted husband to Lisa, a dedicated Lancer, and a proud twin brother.

We are taking part in the Great North Run 2026 with the British Thyroid Foundation to raise awareness of thyroid cancer and have the opportunity to raise vital money to support those facing this disease. This disease is often overlooked, misunderstood, and under-recognised. Too many people don’t realise how subtle the symptoms can be or how crucial early detection is.

Every mile we run will be for James and for everyone facing thyroid cancer. This is our way of honouring him and helping bring more awareness to a disease that needs to be seen and understood. Tilly Kelly
